Manage standard objects
Learn about Attio's standard objects and how to configure them.
What are standard objects?
Standard objects are built-in objects provided by Attio. Because Attio understands the purpose of these objects, each one comes with a predefined set of attributes. Some are enabled by default, while others can be enabled as needed based on your use case. Standard objects include Companies, People, Deals, Users, and Workspaces.
When your data doesn’t fit into one of the standard objects, you can create a custom object.
For help choosing the right objects and understanding how they work with lists and views, see Define your data model: objects, lists, and views.
Note: Object limits depend on your Attio plan: 3 on Free, 5 on Plus, 12 on Pro, and unlimited on Enterprise. Companies and People objects count toward these limits. Learn more about plans and pricing.
Companies and People standard objects
When you sync your email and calendar, the Companies and People objects will populate automatically with the people and companies records you’ve emailed or met with in the past:
Companies: Every business or organization your team has interacted with, usually identified by a domain
People: Every individual your team has interacted with, usually identified by an email address
People and Companies objects also include additional features:
Enriched attributes: Attio automatically enriches person and company records with useful data points like logos and profile pictures, social media handles, and descriptions.
Email syncing: When you sync your email and calendar, Attio automatically creates person and company records for everyone you’ve emailed or had calendar events with (with default settings).
Communication intelligence: With email and calendar sync, you can use communication intelligence attributes like Last interaction to see at a glance when interactions are taking place, and with whom
Companies system attributes
The Companies object includes the system attributes listed in the table below. Attributes marked as "enriched" are automatically populated by Attio when possible.
System attributes on Companies are not editable: their names, configuration, and options (for select and multi-select attributes) cannot be changed. Some attributes also have values assigned by Attio that you cannot modify; these are marked "values not editable" in the table.
To create additional custom attributes on Companies, see Create and manage attributes.
Note: Some attributes are only available on select plans. Learn more about plans and pricing.
