Overview
Hazelchat is an AI chat agent for your website. It answers visitors from your own pages and the sources you approve, shows where each answer came from, and says so when it doesn't know. When a visitor wants to hear from you, Hazelchat takes their enquiry.
With the Hazelchat app, every new enquiry from your website chat goes straight to Attio. Hazelchat finds the visitor in your people by email address, or adds them, and attaches a note with what they asked and where they came from. You reply with the whole conversation in view, without copying anything over from an inbox.
How it works
People
For each new enquiry, Hazelchat looks for a person with the visitor's email address. If there is one, it is used as it is: Hazelchat never changes a person who is already in your workspace. If there isn't, Hazelchat adds a person with the visitor's name and email address, and Attio links the company from the email domain, as it does for any new person.
Notes
Each enquiry adds one note to that person, titled "Website enquiry from" and the visitor's name. It holds the visitor's message, the last question they asked and whether Hazelchat could answer it, where the chat came from (campaign, referrer, page and website) and a link to the conversation in Hazelchat. Notes are plain text, so nothing a visitor types turns into a link.
What it doesn't do
Hazelchat only looks up people by email address and reads its own notes when it has to check a send. It doesn't touch your other records, lists, deals or tasks, and it never sends chat transcripts or phone numbers. Your own tests in Hazelchat are not sent.
Configure
Connect
- Sign in to Hazelchat, or start at hazelchat.co and set up your website chat.
- In Hazelchat, open Connections, choose Attio and click Connect Attio.
- Approve the connection in Attio. A workspace admin needs to approve it.
New enquiries from your website chat appear in Attio within seconds.
Requirements
Sending enquiries to Attio is part of Hazelchat's paid plans. Visitor details must be on in Hazelchat under Data & privacy.
Disconnect
Click Disconnect Attio in Hazelchat to stop sending and give back Hazelchat's access. To remove the app completely, uninstall it in Attio's settings. People and notes already in Attio stay there.
