Overview
Octolens is the AI-powered social listening platform, used by Vercel, PostHog, Supabase, and 1000+ others teams.
It monitors all relevant platform for B2B conversations, including Reddit, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Bluesky, Hacker News, GitHub, news, podcasts and more.
Every mention is scored by AI for relevance, sentiment and buying intent, so you act on signal instead of noise.
This app brings social signals into Attio's workflows. Start an automation the moment a relevant mention appears, or pull a person's mentions on demand — then create records, enrich contacts, add timeline notes, notify your team, or anything else you can build in Attio. You decide how the data maps to your CRM, Octolens supplies the signal.
How it works
Use Cases
- Sales: Close deals faster with more context from social posts
- Customer Success: Get early signals from signals to identify and mitigate churn risk
- Marketing: Build winning marketing campaigns by analyzing how prospects talk about your brand, your competitors, or your industry
- Growth: Generate new contacts from social posts (e.g. somebody asking for "alternative to competitor X")
Key Features
The app adds workflow blocks you compose yourself:
- Trigger: New Octolens mention – choose an Octolens view; the workflow runs every time a new mention lands in it. The mention's source, author, body, link, sentiment, keyword and tags are available to downstream steps.
- Step: Get mentions by author – fetch a person's recent mentions by X handle and/or LinkedIn profile URL — map these straight from an Attio Person's attributes.
- Step: Get mentions – query your mentions by keyword, tag, source, sentiment, language, relevance, follower count or date range.
From there, use Attio's native actions to create or find records, add notes to a contact's timeline, send Slack or email, or branch on sentiment and intent tags.
Two common patterns:
- enrich an existing contact or organization when a mention's author matches a Person
- create a new lead from high-intent mentions. The documentation includes templates examples.
Configure
Requirements
- An Octolens account (any plan).
- Admin access to your Attio workspace to install the app.
Setup
- In Octolens, go to Settings → API keys and create a key with Read + Write scope. Read lets the app fetch your mentions; Write lets the "New Octolens mention" trigger attach a webhook to the view you choose. Octolens never holds an Attio token and makes no changes to your data on its own. You stay in control of every write.
- In Attio, install the Octolens app and paste the key into the Octolens connection.
- Add the Octolens trigger or any step to a workflow and configure it.
Tip: link people by social handle, not company name. The author step matches on X handle and LinkedIn profile URL — deterministic identifiers you can map directly from your Attio Person records.
