Create insight templates for call recordings

Customize insight templates for AI-generated takeaways from your call recordings.

With insight templates, AI can summarize and highlight the key details from meetings that matter most to you.

When you create an insight template, you provide AI with a prompt that tells it what information to extract from the call and how to format it. You can apply any insight template to any call recording and switch between templates to view different insights.

Note: Any workspace member can create insight templates, and all templates are shared with and accessible to all other workspace members.

Create an insight template

To create a new insight template:

  • Navigate to Calls in the left-hand sidebar.

  • Click the Insight Templates tab at the top of the page.

  • Click New template.

  • Enter a descriptive name in place of Untitled Template. If left blank, a name will be auto-generated when you save the template.

Add sections to an insight template

On the left, create sections with prompts that guide AI in generating insights from any call recording transcript.

  • Give each section a Title and write a Prompt with questions or instructions for AI to follow.

  • Choose a Format: Text for text-based summaries or List for a bulleted format.

  • Add as many sections as needed using + Add section.

Preview, publish, and use insight templates

While viewing an insight template, you can apply it to any past call recording to preview the insights it will generate.

  • On the right next to Previewing, use the dropdown to search for and select a call recording.

  • The template will be applied to the selected call, and the generated insights will appear below.

  • If you've made edits to a template, click the arrow in the upper-right to regenerate the preview to reflect the changes made.

When you’re done editing, click Publish template to make it available for all call recordings. Unpublished templates will be saved as drafts.

Manage insight templates

To manage insight templates, go to Calls in the sidebar and select Insight Templates at the top of the page.

Edit an insight template

Select a template to make edits, then click Publish changes to apply the updates to be reflected when using the template with a call recording.

Archive or delete an insight template

Insight templates can be archived or deleted:

  • Archived templates cannot be used with call recordings but can be restored at any time.

  • Deleted templates are permanently removed from Attio and cannot be restored. You can only delete templates that haven’t been used with a call recording.

To archive or delete a template, click the ⋮ icon to the right of the template and select Archive template or Delete template. To restore an archived template, click the ⋮ icon to the right of the template and choose Restore template.
