Log customer feedback and automate Linear issues.

Admins can install the Linear app.
Once installed, all members can use it.

Attio's Linear app lets you capture customer feedback from your records and share it with your product team, all without leaving Attio. You can also use Linear blocks in workflows to create, update, find, and delete issues automatically based on activity in your CRM.

Install Linear app

To set up the Linear app, you must be a workspace admin. Here’s how to get started:

  1. Click your workspace name, select Workspace settings, then go to Apps in the sidebar.

  2. Open the Linear app and click Install.

Connect Linear account with Attio

Once the app is installed by an admin, each workspace member should connect their own Linear account:

  1. Click your workspace name, select Account settings, then go to Apps in the sidebar.

  2. Open the Linear app.

  3. Click Connect and sign into Linear if prompted.

  4. Once connected, you’ll see the status update to Connected.

Log customer requests to Linear

You can log customer feedback to Linear directly from multiple places in Attio:

  • Person, company, and deal records

  • Call recording transcripts, summaries, and insights

Log customer requests from record pages

To log customer feedback from person, company, or deal records in Attio, first open a record page. Then choose one of the following:

  • Quick actions: Use command/control+K to open quick actions, then search for and select Log customer request.

  • Record actions: Click Log customer request from the top-right of the record page.

You can also access all of a customer’s requests in Linear from their company page in Attio with the View company in Linear button, accessed from quick actions or record actions.

Log customer requests from calls

When viewing a call recoding in Attio, highlight text in the transcript, summary, or insights containing feedback and select Log customer request.

Submit request details to Linear

A window will open where you can fill in the request details:

  • Company (required):

    • If you're on a company record, the app will try to match by domain or name in Linear — or create the company if no match is found.

    • If you're on a person or deal record, select the company to associate with the request.

  • Customer request details (optional): Add a description of the customer’s request. Markdown formatting is supported.

  • Source URL (optional): Include a link to the original feedback source.

  • Add request to (required): Select an existing issue or project in Linear, or click Create new issue.

    • When creating a new issue, you’ll need to enter an Issue title and select a Team.

  • When you’re finished filling out the details, click Log request to submit it to Linear.

In Linear, the issue will be labeled Managed by Attio to indicate it was created via the app.

Use Linear in workflows

Once you've connected Linear, you can use Linear blocks in workflows to automate issue management.

Set up a workspace connection

To use the Linear app workflow blocks, an admin in both Attio and Linear will need to set up a workspace connection:

  • Click your workspace name, select Workspace settings, then go to Apps in the sidebar.

  • Open the Linear app.

  • Under Workspace connection, click + Connect.

  • Sign in to Linear as a workspace admin, and authorize the connection.

Once connected, the status will update to Connected, and the issue triggers become available to use in workflows.

Linear workflow blocks

Use these blocks to manage Linear issues directly from a workflow.

Create issue

Create issue creates a new issue in Linear when a workflow runs.

Inputs:

  • Team: Select the Linear team the issue belongs to.

  • Project or issue: Select a project to file the issue under, or an existing issue to add it as a sub-issue. Select Create new issue to create a standalone issue instead.

  • Title: Enter the issue title.

  • Description (optional): Enter the issue description.

  • Status (optional): Select the initial status for the issue.

  • Priority (optional): Select the issue priority.

  • Label (optional): Select a label for the issue.

Update issue

Update issue updates the details of an existing Linear issue.

Inputs:

  • Issue ID: Enter the ID of the issue to update, or use a variable.

  • Team (optional): Select the Linear team the issue belongs to.

  • Project or issue (optional): Select a project to file the issue under, or an existing issue to add it as a sub-issue.

  • Title (optional): Enter a new title.

  • Description (optional): Enter a new description.

  • Status (optional): Select a new status.

  • Priority (optional): Select a new priority.

  • Label (optional): Select a label to add to the issue.

Find issues

Find issues searches for Linear issues that match a search query.

Inputs:

  • Search query: Enter the text to search across issue titles and descriptions for a partial match.

This block routes the workflow down one of two paths: Found or Not found. If any issues match, the block returns the Found path.

Delete issue

Delete issue deletes a Linear issue.

Inputs:

  • Issue ID: Enter the ID of the issue to delete, or use a variable.

Issue created (trigger)

Issue created starts a workflow whenever a new issue is created in Linear.

Inputs:

  • Team or project: Select the Linear team or project to monitor.

Issue updated (trigger)

Issue updated starts a workflow whenever any field on an issue is updated in Linear.

Inputs:

  • Team or project: Select the Linear team or project to monitor.

Issue deleted (trigger)

Issue deleted starts a workflow whenever an issue is deleted in Linear.

Inputs:

  • Team or project: Select the Linear team or project to monitor.
