Overview
Advanced Workflow Automations gives you more ways to start an Attio workflow, and more actions to use inside them. Respond to changes in notes and tasks, work with comments and call recordings, find related activity, and compare values before deciding what happens next.
You can also schedule an Attio workflow to run for selected records at a future date and time. Select the records, choose a workflow, and schedule them for tomorrow morning, next week, or another time that suits your team. Each record starts its own workflow run when the scheduled time arrives.
Subflows let you reuse a workflow from other workflows. Pass in a record and any values it needs, then use its results in the next steps. Keep shared logic in one place instead of rebuilding it in every workflow.
Lookup tables let your workflows reuse reference data, such as sales territories, account owners, or Slack IDs. Maintain the mapping in one shared table and look up the values you need as the workflow runs.
Install the app to use its triggers and steps in Attio. Connect it to the Neon Deer platform for lookup tables, scheduled workflows, and subflows.

How it works
Schedule workflows for later
Choose when an Attio workflow should run for a group of records. Select 10 companies today and schedule an overdue-task review for tomorrow at 9:00 AM. At the scheduled time, if the tasks are still overdue, send a Slack message to their owners.
To schedule a workflow:
- Build a workflow with the app’s Scheduled record trigger and turn it on.
- Select records in Attio and choose Schedule in workflow.
- Pick the workflow, date, and time.
Each record enters the workflow at its scheduled time, using your workspace’s time zone. Check pending runs from the record in Attio, or view upcoming runs and history on Neon Deer. Cancel a run or batch when plans change.
Schedules are one-time. Schedule the records again to run the workflow another time.
Reuse workflows with subflows
Build a workflow once and call it from other workflows:
- Start with Start a subflow. Choose its object and name any inputs and outputs.
- Add the steps that do the work, then Return from a subflow.
- Turn it on. In another workflow, add Call a subflow, choose the object, record, and subflow, and supply its inputs.
The calling workflow waits for a result by default. Choose a timeout of up to 15 minutes, or turn off Wait for a result to continue immediately.
Use custom lookup tables
Keep reference data in one place and reuse it across workflows. Instead of maintaining a branch for every state, industry, or team member, look up the matching row and use its values.
For example:
- Map an Attio workspace member to their Slack ID.
- Map a company’s country or state to its sales territory and account owner.
- Map a company’s zip code to a metro area.
- Map an industry to the team responsible for it.
Create a table on Neon Deer, import a CSV, or start with a table from the built-in library. Add Find lookup table row to your workflow, choose the table, and pass in the value to match. The matching row’s values are available to later steps.
More workflow triggers
Start workflows from activity that matters to your team:
- Notes: Note content updated, Note title updated, and Note deleted.
- Tasks: when a task is created or deleted, its completion changes, it is reassigned, or its deadline changes.
More workflow steps
Find information and prepare it for the next action:
- Find notes and tasks associated with a record, including overdue tasks.
- Find workspace members for later steps.
- Read meeting details, comments, conversation threads, and call transcripts.
- Compare values to find changes, additions, and removals.
- Convert values or turn HTML into Markdown.
- Create or move notes, create folders, or stop a workflow with an error.
Configure
Install the app in your Attio workspace. Its triggers and steps appear in the workflow editor, where you configure each block as you use it.
For lookup tables and scheduled workflows, open the installed app’s Connections tab in Attio and add a Neon Deer workspace connection. Finish setup on the Neon Deer platform, create any lookup tables you need, and set your workspace time zone before scheduling records.
For scheduling, your workflow must start with Scheduled record, use the same object as the records you want to schedule, and be turned on.
Follow the setup guide, including the setup needed for task-change triggers. For connection problems, missing events, or scheduling errors, see Troubleshooting.
