Twain

Twain is a GTM agent that researches every contact in real time and writes outreach from what it finds. Connect Attio and your CRM becomes both the source of who to reach and the home for the research and copy Twain produces.

Point Twain at an Attio list of people and it imports them and researches each one: buying signals, LinkedIn and company context, and contact qualification. At deeper research levels it also writes a thesis and strategy for each prospect. It then drafts a multi-step email and LinkedIn sequence grounded in that research, not one template with merge tags swapped in.

When the campaign is ready, Twain writes the messages, subject lines and research back to each person's record in Attio and adds those people to a list you choose. Exporting again updates the same record and keeps one list entry per person instead of creating duplicates. Add the Attio import to a Twain workflow and people added to the list later are picked up automatically, so a segment your team already maintains keeps producing researched outreach.

Attio's workflow agents can also read your Twain campaigns, people and research through Twain's MCP server.

From Attio into Twain

Pick an Attio list of people and Twain imports them. Twain suggests how your attributes map onto its fields, and you can change any of them:

• Email → Email addresses
• Name → Name
• Job title → Job title
• LinkedIn → LinkedIn
• Company → Company
• Location → Primary location

Each person needs a LinkedIn profile URL or a work email; records with neither are skipped. One import can bring in up to 25,000 people.

From Twain back into Attio

Twain creates or updates people records matched on email address, so exporting a campaign twice updates the same record instead of creating a duplicate. It writes:

• each sequence message, one attribute per step
• subject lines for each step
• research: signals, absent signals, thesis, strategy, warnings, headline, other roles and company info
• lead details: job title, location, company size and website
• name, email and LinkedIn

You choose the attribute for each field, and Twain creates any that don't exist yet. Attributes Attio fills itself, and email or phone attributes, aren't offered. Exporting research needs a Twain plan that includes it.

Twain also adds every exported person to an Attio list of people you pick. Exporting again keeps one entry per person, so the list stays clean.

Ongoing sync

Add the Attio import to a Twain workflow and it watches the list, importing people as they are added, including anyone who leaves and is later added back. You choose whether the first run also enrolls the people already in the list or only those added from then on.

Use Twain from Attio's AI agents

The Twain app connects Twain's MCP server to Attio, so a custom agent in an Attio workflow can read your Twain workspace and use what Twain has researched and written. The agent can:

• list your Twain workspaces, agents, campaigns and automations
• read a campaign's setup, prices and activity log, and an automation's settings
• list the people in a campaign and read each one's sequence and research
• check a generation's progress and your Twain credit balance

These tools only read, so an agent never changes your campaigns or spends Twain credits. On Twain's Starter plan, a person's research, thesis and strategy stay in the Twain app.

Connect Attio to Twain

Connecting takes one authorization: open the Attio integration in Twain and approve access. If access is ever revoked, reconnect once.

Import and generate

1. Create a campaign, or open an existing one, and choose Attio as the lead source.
2. Pick the list of people to import.
3. Map your Attio attributes onto Twain's lead fields. At minimum, map a LinkedIn profile URL or a work email.
4. Generate. Twain researches each person and writes the sequence.

Export back to Attio

1. In the campaign, click "Export Leads" and choose Attio.
2. Pick the list to add people to.
3. Pick an attribute for each field. Twain creates any that don't exist yet.
4. Click "Export Leads".

Keep the list in sync

Add the Attio import as a workflow step and choose whether to enroll the people already in the list. To export each new person as well, add an Attio export step and pick the list there too.

Connect your Twain account to the MCP server

1. An admin installs Twain: click your workspace name → "Workspace settings" → "Apps", search for Twain and click "Install".
2. Each member connects their own Twain account: in "Workspace settings" → "Apps" → "Twain" → "Connections", click "Connect" next to your name under "Member connections".
3. Sign in to Twain with Google, LinkedIn or email (a new email creates a Twain account), then click "Allow".
