Overview
FolioReady is the AI-powered document collection layer for Attio. Send a branded folio request to your client, they upload their documents through a hosted portal, and FolioReady's AI reads the files and extracts the data you asked for. Every extracted value flows onto the matching Attio record automatically — a person, a company, or a deal.
This is the integration for teams that already track clients in Attio but still spend hours opening PDFs, copying out dates, account numbers, and addresses, and pasting them into custom attributes by hand. FolioReady eliminates that step. Configure your template once, choose which fields should be extracted, point each one at an Attio attribute, and the next time a client uploads documents the values land on their record without a person touching them.
Everything FolioReady writes is prefixed `folioready_` so your attribute schema stays clean and auditable. Disconnecting only stops future writes — your existing attributes and data stay put. Built for professional services teams in accounting, insurance, legal, mortgage, and consulting where every client onboarding starts with a stack of documents.
How it works
AI extraction drives the integration
FolioReady's AI reads the content of every document a client uploads — PDFs, scanned images, photos of paperwork — and pulls out the values you configured. Each extracted value comes with a confidence rating, so high-confidence results can be accepted at a glance and lower-confidence ones flag exactly where to double-check.
Connect once, sync forever
Authorize FolioReady from the Attio app store. Access tokens are long-lived, so reconnection is rare.
Import people without retyping
Search your Attio people by name or email from inside FolioReady and import them as clients in two clicks. Contact details pre-fill from the matching Attio person record. Duplicate guards stop you creating the same client twice.
Map folio fields to Attio attributes
In the template builder, every canvas field maps to an attribute on the Attio object the template targets — people, companies, deals, or a custom object in your workspace. Pick an existing attribute, or create a new one inline — FolioReady provisions it with a `folioready_` prefix on the object type you chose.
Values flow on completion
When a folio is completed, FolioReady writes every mapped value onto the linked Attio record. Manual fields and AI-extracted fields write through the same pipeline.
Choose what syncs
By default FolioReady syncs to Attio the moment AI processing finishes — extracted values land on the linked record and a short document synopsis posts as a note, with no one lifting a finger. The two are separate switches, so a team that wants the data on the record but would rather keep AI summaries out of the timeline turns synopses off and leaves field values running. The setting applies to the whole workspace and you can change it any time.
Uploaded files mirror to the Attio record
Every file a client uploads attaches to the linked record automatically — no setup required — inside a `FolioReady` folder. Files larger than Attio's 50 MB API cap stay in FolioReady only.
Audit and clean up easily
Filter Attio's object settings for the `folioready_` prefix to see everything the integration manages. Disconnecting halts future writes; existing attributes remain until you delete them.
Configure
Prerequisites
You need a FolioReady account on any plan and an Attio workspace where you have admin permissions. Admin is required so the app can create custom attributes.
Connect Attio
- Open FolioReady and go to Settings → Integrations.
- Find Attio and click Connect. You'll be redirected to Attio.
- Pick the workspace you want to connect, review the requested scopes, and authorize FolioReady.
- You'll be redirected back to FolioReady with the integration marked Active.
Choose your AI provider
FolioReady supports Anthropic, Google, AWS Bedrock, and Ollama. Open Settings → AI and pick a provider and model. AI extraction will not run until this is set.
Configure a template for AI extraction
- Open the Template Builder for the form you want to automate.
- On the upload section, enable AI extraction and write a short prompt that describes the documents your clients will upload.
- On each canvas field, set the AI hint, the expected format, and the Attio attribute it should write to. Pick an existing attribute or click Create field to provision a new `folioready_` attribute on the object type you choose.
Send your first folio
Send the folio to a client. They upload their documents through the hosted portal. AI extraction runs as soon as files arrive, results land in the folio with confidence levels, and on completion all mapped values flow onto the linked Attio record.
Mirror files to Attio
Open Settings → Integrations → Edit, set Store Uploaded Files to Attio, and save. From that point every completed folio's files attach to the linked person record inside a `FolioReady` folder.
Disconnect
Open Settings → Integrations, click Delete Connection on the Attio integration, and confirm. Future writes stop immediately. Existing `folioready_` attributes and values remain — delete them from Attio's object settings if you want to fully remove them.
