Most of the GTM advice we received as operators came from people who had never had to live with it. Strategy firms produced decks and left. RevOps shops started with tooling. AI consultancies looked for places to insert AI. All of them were sometimes right. None of them had to defend the recommendation in the room when the budget got cut.
Breakaway sits between strategy and implementation because that is where the work actually is. We find the constraint, we build the system that fixes it, and we stay to keep improving it. The methodology exists because we needed one when we were on the other side of the table.
Growth, we think, is a system. CRM, lifecycle, sales, service, data, and automation are not separate departments with separate problems. They are parts of the same revenue engine, and it breaks in the spaces between them. That is where we spend our time.
