# Manage Ask Attio settings

Manage settings and preferences for Ask Attio.

Ask Attio has two levels of settings: personal settings that apply only to you, and workspace settings that apply to everyone in the workspace. Workspace settings can only be configured by admins.

## Access Ask Attio personal settings

To open your personal Ask Attio settings:

- Click your workspace name in the top left.
- Click **Account settings**.
- Select **Ask Attio** in the left-hand sidebar under **Personal**.

Changes you make here only affect your own experience and don't change how Ask Attio works for other workspace members.

### Update web search preferences

On the **General** tab under **Privacy** > **Web search**, choose when Ask Attio is allowed to search the web:

- **Always ask:** Ask Attio requests permission before searching the web.
- **Always allow:** Ask Attio searches automatically when it determines web results would be useful.
- **Don't allow:** Ask Attio will not use web search in any chats.

### Share downvoted messages

On the **General** tab under **Privacy** > **Share downvoted messages**, choose whether conversations are shared with Attio when you downvote a response:

- **Always share:** Downvoted conversations are automatically shared to help improve Ask Attio.
- **Ask each time:** You decide whether to share each time you downvote.
- **Don't share:** Conversations are never shared, and you won't be prompted to share them.

### Set a default model

On the **General** tab under **Model** > **Default model**, choose the AI model Ask Attio uses by default. You can still switch models within an individual chat at any time.

## Add personal context

Personal context is a set of instructions and preferences that Attio applies on your behalf. Use it to share details about your role, your preferred communication style, output format preferences, or anything else that helps Ask Attio give you more relevant responses.

Personal context is set on your profile, not in your Ask Attio settings:

- Click your workspace name in the top left.
- Click **Account settings**.
- Open the **Profile** tab, then scroll to **Personal context**.
- Type your context in the text field.

Ask Attio applies your personal context automatically in all your new conversations.

> **Note:** Your custom context is personal to you. It is not visible to or shared with other workspace members.

## Access Ask Attio workspace settings

You must be an admin to configure workspace settings. To open your workspace Ask Attio settings:

- Click your workspace name in the top left.
- Click **Workspace settings**.
- Select **Ask Attio** in the left-hand sidebar under **Workspace**.

Changes you make here affect how Ask Attio works for all members of the workspace.

### Add workspace custom context

Workspace context lets admins give Ask Attio instructions and context that apply to every conversation across the workspace. Ask Attio applies it to every conversation across the workspace. Use it to share details about your business, how your team uses certain terms, or any other context that helps Ask Attio give everyone more relevant responses.

To add workspace context:

- Open the **Custom context** tab.
- Type your context in the **Workspace context** field.
