Send new entries to Attio when Trello cards move stage 

Trello is a popular kanban-style productivity app that uses lists to manage projects and processes. This Zapier automation will send new entries to your Attio list when they move stages in Trello.

Prep: Connect Trello and Zapier

Head to your Zapier dashboard and click Add connection in the top right. Search for Trello and choose it from the dropdown. When prompted, sign in with Trello and allow Zapier access to your account. Learn more about connecting Trello and Zapier.

1. Create your Trello trigger

From your Zapier dashboard, click Create Zap in the top left. Search for Trello from the App Event window, and from the Trigger Event dropdown pick Card Moved to List in Trello. Choose your Trello account when prompted, followed by the Trello Board and List you’d like to use for this Zap. For the example below, we’ve chosen a board called ‘Sales’ and a list (or stage) called ‘Won’. You can leave the Card field set to Any Card. Continue to test your trigger.

2. Add company websites to your Trello cards

You’ll need to include company URLs somewhere in your Trello cards in order to create a company in Attio - for this example we’ve included the company’s website URL in the Description field of each card in Trello.

In this instance, we’ve chosen to send a company record to Attio. To send people to Attio, use the Find or Create a Person action for step 1 of this guide, and for step 2 add their email address to the card description instead of a domain.

3. Create a new company in Attio

Add a new action step and pick Attio from the App Event dropdown. For Action Event, choose Find or Create a Company. Select your Attio account. Mapping the fields using the data from steps 1 and 2, set your action up like this:

4. Create an entry in your Attio list

Lastly, we’ll add a new entry to your list in Attio. Add another action step to your Zap and pick Attio from the dropdown. Choose Find or Create Entry from the Action Event dropdown, and pick your Attio account when prompted. Next, you'll want to set up your action like this:

And that’s it! Now anytime a card moves to the ‘Won’ stage in our Trello board, Zapier will send new leads to our ‘Sales’ Attio list.
